Frequently Asked Questions

What primary services do you offer?

Primarily birth doula support services., but I love serving postpartum clients as well!

What is a doula?

According to DONA, a doula is “a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help achieve the healthiest, most satisfying experience possible”.

What are the rates of your services?

Generally birth services cost $500 and postpartum cost $15/hour, but I do have payment plans and alternative ways to pay!

I can’t afford photography, but really want a few pictures.

If you choose, a handful of photos will be taken. They might not be edited the same or taken with the same lenses as a professional photographer, but they will still beautifully capture the important moments.

Do you attend hospital births!

Yes, I do! Mostly at CentraCare St. Cloud as that is the closest for me.

Do you attend home births?

Absolutely!

Do you attend birth center births?

Of course!

What happens if you are unable to attend my birth?

If an emergency happens to prevent me from attending your birth, either a backup doula will attend (that you will have contact info for beforehand), you will be refunded, or the payment can be used for other services. These instances are laid out in detail in my contract.

Do you give medical advice?

No. Absolutely not. I am not a medical professional, and do not even speak to the medical professionals on your behalf. I can advocate for your choices to be honored, but cannot speak or make decisions for you. What I CAN do however, is inform you of your choices, your rights, and the evidence behind different choices, and then wholeheartedly support the decisions you make.
