Welcome!

My two distinctly different birth experiences propelled me into this calling to birthwork. I had one amazingly supportive labor and birth experience, in which I felt strong and empowered in the choices I made. Even though it wasn’t possible for all of my choices to have happened, I was prepared for many outcomes and was able to enjoy the experience. It was so amazing! Unfortunately, not everyone has a similar story, I sure did not for my second birth! I believe everyone deserves more support during labor, birth, and postpartum than is typically given, and I am here to be your guide throughout.

I am now a certified birth and postpartum doula through Manhattan Birth! I am also a certified VBAC Pro through the VBAC Academy and have attended successful VBACs before.
I have also attended a yearlong mentorship program through Manhattan Birth.

I have chosen not to certify my practice for several reasons – first and foremost, I don’t want to have to answer to any governing bodies about the care that I provide. I know that what I have to offer is valuable with or without a piece of paper and a pat on the back from a certifying organization. Additionally, paying yearly to keep my certification and be accepted into any organization is not something I believe benefits my clients in any way. I am always looking to learn and grow, and looking outward to seek validation doesn’t resonate with me.

I am currently attending the Indie Birth Midwifery School, and am so happy to be on the path toward my true soul calling of the ancient art of midwifery! 😉
